Members
of the the Vikings of Bjornstad, a group within Regia
Anglorum North America covering California, Arizona and
Nevada, traveled to Topanga Canyon State Park near Los
Angeles on 31 January 2005 to portray combatants at the
Battle of Hastings. Greystone Productions and former USMC
captain, actor and military technical advisor Dale Dye
were filming host segments for the show, which was
broadcast on the History Channel on 30 March 2005. Thanks to Carl Clink for coordinating our involvement, to Mike Cady for many of the photographs and loaning me a hauberk, to Henrik Olsgaard for offering to loan me one and to Douglas Sunlin for driving Interstate 5.
